Hummingbird Clearwing Moth by Bob Ferrante
It was a very busy day at a stand of thistle found along a trial at Hammonasset State Park in Madison Ct. Bees, moths, and beetles were collecting nectar and pollen at a feverish rate. Two of these moths were hovering about from to flower and never stood still. Fast shutter speed (1/2500 sec) and patience was required to find the right moment to capture this image.
